Statue of Imagery

Today I am sharing one of my 6 new artworks called Statue of Imagery here.
I have resolved to write more about my artwork and process daily, so I must single out a piece and talk about it a bit.

People are not as interested in the mechanics of how I create these as they are about why I paint what I do.  I have chosen not to pursue realistic images because that takes a different kind of talent than I have. It encourages the perfectionist in us and thus for me results in automatic negative thoughts (neither of which is healthful).

I am a process painter. I just start putting strokes and shapes on the screen and keep meddling with the results until I wander accidentally into something that I can love (or at least tolerate).

I paint daily as a way of making a difference in this world. I am hopefully providing enjoyment for my viewers and collectors as I pursue a path that is interesting to me and will hopefully leave a legacy beyond my lifespan of value.

These "Recursive" paintings consist of portions of images in the new Art Show Opening Today at www.risingrims.com. My site opens to my "Best of June" paintings. Complexity Returns To Todays Images

I know how important it is to remove all but the most essential in good writing. I think the same can be said for painting. I have a lot to learn to be able to communicate in simple but powerful terms.  Todays images are riddled with complexity. They may start out simple but I keep adding elements to make them more pleasing to my eye.

As my eye becomes more educated, I appreciate the simple and the complex.

Gaze on these creations for a minute and take your mind away from the mundane worries it tries to trap you in. Don't sweat the small stuff because all stuff is small stuff.

A Preview Of Some of My Best of June 2017 Show Artwork

Every month I hope to open a new web gallery showing my picks for the best of the month. This preview does not contain images created this week or next.  Stay tuned for the big announcement and show in June.

Unfortunately I cannot offer wine and nibbles like a physical gallery, but I will be available for your questions. You will not have to be on time or drive anywhere, just take a minute any time during the month to visit.
